From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.

The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
