Jeffrey Epstein acquired a smaller island - Little St James - back in the late 1990s, but subsequently obtained the larger Great St James in the year 2016 for a sum of $22.5 million.
The released images indicate he had created ambitious plans to develop the 161-acre island by constructing living quarters, an performance venue, an office beneath the waves and a pool.
You can see the plan is Pillsbury Sound, a waterway in the region, indicated on the south-eastern section.
The site plan is marked up in notations in red and contains a key detailing distinct sections of the property.
Alongside this are what seem to be several other site drawings and engineering blueprints, including designs for boat shelters.
